Vagina Monologues+ painted skin + canele

Watched vagina monologues on friday with isaac..

i must say.. its a real good play..close to perfect.. i was laughing throughout.. almost cos some issues they touched abt are rather serious.. orgasms, female genital mutilation, rape n outrage of modesty.. the play covered alot of ground abt women and the challenges n problems they face.

i like the play because for most of the issues.. they used a very humorous n witty way to portray it.. particularly liked the monologue abt ‘moaning’.. haha.. i find that its especially interesting for the Singapore verson because of the word ‘cb’ which means vagina in hokkien, which they used at very critical points to bring the entire audience into roars of laughter..

very grateful that i finally get to watched this.. have been wanting to watch it since i know abt it.. even more grateful that i watched the play from a singaporean theatre company because i truly love the way its fused into our multi-cultural society..

but i think.. its the best for a couple to watch it together.. preferably a young couple who have kids.. they will probably appreciate the entire play more because of some parts regarding sex.. haha..

last night.. i watched painted skin or “hua pi” with my family.. its a really good exp because it have been years since all of us watched a movie tgt.. my parents, my eldest brother n myself.. my mom asked if i wanted to watch last week n also if i can spend the time.. so i decide to watch it on sat since its their preferred timing as well.. Its a nice family outing very grateful too..

somehow.. i was very touched by the movie “hua pi”. its a very simple story abt a demon who loved a man and try to make the man love her as well.. but i was very touched by the love story within.. the sacrifices someone can make for the person they love.. truly moved me close to tears.. tho i think my parents n bro probably dont feel the same way.. haha.. the part that the man love the demon but cannot be with her because he is alr married set me thinking as well.. isn’t this the typical situation for a couple.. when someone better or more suitable comes along.. what happens.. no perfect ans i guess..

lastly.. had canele with weizhen today.. haha.. atas life.. well not exactly la.. cos its kind of affordable but the ambience is abit put-offish for people like me who talk loudly laugh loudly n dont wear socks? haha..  but nice ambience nonetheless .. the seats are too close to one another tho..

went to paragon outlet.. had the hmm… forgot the name.. this square chocalatey thing.. resembles a bigger version of a brownie.. and also a fruit tart.. we almost didnt finish it.. both pieces are so rich and heavy that we were abt full when we are not even close to having eaten half of each.. but we managed to finish it still after hours… haha.. its pretty good.. but not that amazing as i thought.. perhaps i gave it too high an value.. but bakerzin seems to be better.. haha..

the choc square.. was very rich.. but i think its best to be share among 3.. so that one dont get sick of it.. the tart.. hmm.. i like it alot because the pastry is really nice n crumbles well too.. the berries are abit sour but taste very real.. haha.. i mean most of the time the berries in cakes ‘outside’ taste too sweet to be true right..

nevertheless.. a nice gathering with weizhen.. she wanted to watch vagina monologues too .. but she didnt in the end.. tried to persuade me to watch snow white.. eh.. not very interested.. told her isaac wants to watch too.. haha.. i’m probably catching another play with isaac.. “Flare”.. sounds interesting.. its abt how an earthquake changes everything in a family n how each member change his life after that..

hmm.. thats abt all..

since when am i into plays? seriously no idea myself..
